Along with millions of other students around the world, the scholars of Blair Elementary are participating in the Hour of Code event in the Makerspace from Dec. 15-22. Scholars began their hour with an introduction video clip from President Barack Obama, followed by a BrainPop video to build background knowledge about the topic of coding. From there, scholars spent the first half of their coding hour learning how to code with the iPad apps Kodable, Scratch Jr and Tynker, and the older scholars visited the official Hour of Code website to engage in the coding activities on their website. The second half of the hour was spent learning how to write code for our Ozobot robots (pre-programmed robots that move along a path according to changes in color patterns in the path). The scholars had a great time learning how to code, and I definitely think we have some future career coders at Blair!
Works in Progress & FInished projects!
